Sony revealed the new Xperia X series of smartphones with the launch of Sony Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance – at the MWC event in Barcelona last week. All these phones run Android 6.0 with the company’s own UI. They come in single and dual SIM variants with 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS, NFC, and Bluetooth connectivity support.
The Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Performance both have very similar features including 5-inch 1080p Triluminos display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot (up to 200GB), Fingerprint sensor, DSEE HX, LDAC and Digital Noise Cancelling.
These also have a 23 Megapixel primary camera with pulse LED flash, 1/2.3 Exmor RS sensor, aperture of f/2.0, Predictive Hybrid autofocus, and a 13 Megapixel front facing camera. Both the rear and front cameras can record 1080p Full HD videos.
Sony Xperia X performance, the high-end phone packs a Quad Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU, and a 2700mAh battery. It measures 70.4 x 143.7 x 8.7mm and weighs 164g. The Xperia X, on the other hand, runs a Hexa Core Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor along with Adreno 510 GPU, and powered by a 2630mAh battery. The X measures 69.4 x 142.7 x 7.9mm and weighs 153g.

The Sony Xperia XA sports a 5-inch 720p curved glass edge-to-edge display, and powered by the Octa-Core MediaTeck Helio P10 processor coupled with 700MHz Mali GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage, MicroSD slot, and a 2300mAh battery. It features a 13 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1/3” IMX258 Exmos RS sensor, and also has an 8 Megapixel front camera. The phone is 7.9mm thick and weighs 137.4g
The Sony Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance will be available in four color options – White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold and will go on sale starting from the summer this year. The pricing details have not been revealed yet.
