Yesterday, LG announced two new mid-range smartphones in its existing K series, the LG K5 and LG K8. The K5 will be available in Europe, CIS and Latin America, while the LG K8 will go sale in Asia, Africa, CIS, the Middle East and Latin America. Both the phones will be rolled in key markets this week, but unfortunately, there is no word on pricing just yet.
In terms of specifications, the LG K5 features a 5-inch FWVGA display, runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with a MicroSD card slot.
The K5 sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera. The 3G Smartphone comes with 1900mAh removable battery and also has Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. It measures 145 x 71.6 x 8.9mm. The LG K5 will come in Gold, Titan and Silver colors. According to our source, the K5 will be called Q6 in Mexico.
On the other hand, the LG K8 comes with a 5-inch HD In-cell Touch IPS display with 2.5D Arc Glass, powered by a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek process coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM, and runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. It has a 2125mAh battery and 8GB of Internal storage with microSD slot.
The phone also comes with a premium design with curved edges and woven back cover. Measuring 144.6 x 71.5 x 8.7mm and weighing around 156 grams, the LG K8 has an advanced 8MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. It is a 4G LTE-enabled smartphone with 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity options. The LG K8 comes in Gold, Indigo and White colors.
