Gionee has officially introduced its latest flagship smartphones dubbed the Gionee S8 and Gionee W909 dual-screen Android flip phone in China. Both are the high-end devices and come with the metallic build design. The Gionee S8 and Gionee W909 cost 2,599 Yuan ( Rs 26,600 approx ) and 3,999 Yuan ( Rs 41,000 approx ) respectively. The handsets are now available to buy in China, but there’s no word yet on its availability outside China.
The Gionee W909 comes features dual 4.2-inch HD touch screen IPS displays, one inside with a T9 Keypad and another one on the front. Under the hood, it packs a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC with 1.8 GHz Octa-core processor and Mali T860 GPU. The handset comes with a 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal memory and MicroSD support up to 128GB. It is backed by a 2530mAh battery.
Android 5.1 Lollipop running smartphone has a Fingerprint sensor and comes with a metal body and leather-like finish on the rear. Measuring 124.1 x 62.8 x 16.5mm and weighing 207.7 grams, the device has a 16MP primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5MP front camera. The Dual SIM phone support 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Type-C connectivity options.
On the other hand, the Gionee S8 smartphone, which was officially announced during this year’s MWC event in Barcelona, has a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 3D Touch with Quick Actions menu support. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest Amigo 3.2 UI on top. The device is powered by a Helio P10 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage up to 128GB similar to the Gionee W909.

The smartphone also has a similar 16MP primary camera with PDAF, laser autofocus and LED flash. It comes with an 8MP front camera and 3,000mAh battery. The Connectivity options include Dual SIM, 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE and USB Type-C port support. It measures 154.3 x 74.9 x 7 mm and weighs in at 152 grams.
